Adi's HiFi Blog

The HiFi topic has been on my mind for years, with everything that goes with it. During this time I have listened to, tested and reported on a number of devices on various social media channels.

I have summarized the previous test reports here for you to read. At irregular intervals I try to keep a small HiFi blog as long as I have time.
The content relates to my personal experiences in testing and listening and may not be consistent with others.

You also find guides, e.g. for preparing digital music collections, Roon and much more, with more to follow.

Please allow some time until all of my Blogs are also available in english. If one is missing check back later.
I hope you enjoy reading here, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Rose Hifi RS150 - First impression after 2 days.

The RS150 has been in my rack for 2 days now.

First I installed a 2.5" 1TB SSD from Samsung so that I could test internally and streamed.

Setting up and putting it into operation has rarely been as easy as with this streamer.

Everything is self-explanatory and you are guided through the process with a tutorial on the 14.9 inch screen - very commendable.

A few clicks later the device is ready and I was able to activate it in Roon.

I won't go into the use of the Connect APP and the various internal functions in more detail in this test. There are enough tutorials and test reports on the internet that show this in detail.

Compared to the previous Cocktail Audio X45, the Rose sounds a lot more differentiated.

The sound has become more vivid, individual instruments and voices can be heard more clearly, the sequencing is better and the sound has expanded both in width and depth. The bass is more precise and subjectively a little deeper, the mids are balanced and the highs are silky but not strenuous. To me it just sounds fantastic from the first minute.

The workmanship and appearance are top-class, the touch display is an eye-catcher with real benefits, and the variety of connections leaves nothing to be desired. The RS150 beats the Cocktail X45 by far, of course also in price.

In the first two days I have already received 2 firmware updates, and the functionalities are constantly being expanded - great.

In the meantime, I also filled the internal music DB by simply connecting my NAS Share - the rest is automatic.

In addition to the touch screen, there is also a BT remote control, an app for tablets and cell phones, and software for use directly on the PC/MAC.

I am completely satisfied with the purchase of the RS150 I tested, and you would probably have to spend a lot more money to top that.
